Robert Reschid was my Great x 3 Grandfather and one of the earliest recorded Muslim converts in Britain. No-one from our family knew of his astonishing conversion to Islam, until just a few years ago, when my dad began researching our family history.
Oh. And my big brother is a Muslim too. He converted 9 years before we made this discovery. Thought that might surprise you!
I’ve now written TWO books about Robert’s life and times, ‘His Own Man’ which is the historical biography and ‘Imagining Robert’ which is a work of fiction – with a dash of humour – based on his life.
