On a little bike ride. Me for the 3rd time in about 35 years. Son (12) really getting into it now. Parked up to go to the local farm shop.
SON: When you just came out of the shop then, with your bag of carrots and your lycra thingies on, I just thought … it’s nice that you act like you don’t have a care in the world.
ME: Eh? Do you mean that … I don’t care about danger and things? Or that I don’t care what people think of me?
SON: Both. But also that you don’t care about how you look. It’s nice really.
Genuinely not sure if this is a backhanded compliment. We’re quite good at them in our family.
