KAFE – Kirklees Authors Forum Exchange
For over a decade, I’ve been the grateful recipient of the services that our public libraries are able to provide for local writers – especially those of us who come from backgrounds that don’t easily access information or contacts in the writing and publishing industries.
After getting involved with a couple of local writing groups in West Yorkshire, it struck me that perhaps we needed to share our respective interests and opportunities more – using the obvious – our public libraries, as ‘the hub’ (if you like.)
And this is how it began! KAFE – stands for ‘Kirklees Author Forum Exchange’. Our first meeting was in Feb 2018 – where writers from groups across the whole of West Yorkshire have gathered together to hear speakers, attend author workshops and to receive feedback and support from one another, in relation to our writing ideas and our personal development and publishing queries. and since then we have met regularly.
In 2020 and 2021 we will be providing sessions aimed at writers who want to improve their skills and knowledge base – as well as introducing you to all of the other writing groups and experts in our region.
