I had to sit my son alongside me as I worked, for a good part of the year. This was so he wouldn’t be distracted from his online school lessons with gaming, YouTube and whatnot.
To be honest, it all seemed like a complete waste of time, all those months … dead airtime, where he’d learned nothing. Other than; “Your job sounds really boring, Mum. Why don’t you become a games designer for Roblox?”
It seemed like he did nothing, other than switch off his brain in relation to worksheets on river formations and listen to me whinging on about the frustrations of running a small charity.
Until yesterday. When he was looking at some favourite toys from his childhood in a shop window and he suddenly said; “Hey, Mum – do you think that Bob the Builder has Public Indemnity Insurance? Be foolish not to.”
